BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Reyazul Rouf Mir, Assistant professor in the Division of Plant Breeding & Genetics at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has more than 10 years of research experience. He has a longstanding engagement in research in the area of applied genomics of Jute, wheat, and legumes like chickpea, common bean, pigeonpea and groundnut.
Dr. Reyazul Rouf Mir has significantly contributed for the development of different types of molecular markers (in jute), bi-parental mapping populations for gene discovery, QTL/gene discovery for important targeted traits (in jute, wheat, pigeonpea, common bean and groundnut) and their use in marker-assisted selection programs (in wheat). Development of improved lines with superior quality traits in wheat through marker-assisted selection (MAS) programs.
