BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Gaganpreet Sidhu presently works as an Associate Research Scientist at the Institute of Cancer Genetics in Columbia University Medical Center in New York. Dr. Sidhu earned her doctoral degree in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Cornell University, New York, USA. She earned her Master’s in Crop Science from Washington State university and her Bachelor’s from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India. She has published research papers in reputed International journals like PNAS, BMC Genomics and Hortscience. She has also authored a book chapter that has been published in Methods in Molecular Biology. She is a member of New York Academy of Sciences and FASEB. She has been invited both within US as well as internationally in Italy, France and India to give seminars. She has served as a reviewer for research articles for reputed journals like Plos Genetics. She has received several academic honors and awards throughout her academic career. She also serves as a mentor for 1000 girls, 1000 futures program hosted by New York Academy of Sciences.
