BIOGRAPHY:
Mehdi Rahimi was born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1978. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Science and High Technology and Environmental Sciences, Graduate University of Advanced Technology, Kerman, Iran. His research interests are in the areas of plant breeding (classical breeding, biometry, abiotic stress, molecular breeding, genomics, gene expression).He received his Ph.D. in plant breeding at Tarbiat Modares University during 2008-2013 and M.Sc. in plant breeding at University of Guilan during 2004-2007 and his B.Sc. in agronomy and plant breeding from Shiraz University.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Mehdi Rahimi research interests include: 1) Improvement of Crops and horticulture plants through classical and molecular genetic methods. 2) Plant biotechnology. 3) Molecular markers, Genetic diversity and Gene expression. 4) Identify quantitative traits loci by QTL mapping and association mapping and genetic maps. 5) Biometry - Genetic analysis of traits using biometric methods - Statistical analyzes in agricultural research. 6) Quantitative genetic and population genetics. 7) Resistance of plants to abiotic and biotic stresses.
