BIOGRAPHY:
Bimal Krishna Banik was awarded Ph. D. degree in Chemistry by Jadavpur University based upon his thesis work performed at Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Calcutta. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) and Stevens Institute of Technology (New Jersey). He is a Fellow (FRSC) and Chartered Chemist (CChem) of the Royal Society of Chemistry, England. Professor Banik has served as a Tenured Full Professor and First President’s Endowed Professor at the University of Texas-Pan American; an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center; and a Research Assistant Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey since 1994. At present, he is the Vice President of Research & Education Development of Community Health Systems of South Texas, USA.
Bimal Krishna Banik has published more than 323 peer-reviewed papers, patents, reviews, perspectives, book chapters, commentaries and editorials along with approximately 460 presentation abstracts. Some of his invited lectures at the national and international conferences are considered Distinguished, Memorial, Key-Note and Chief-Guest Lectures. He has presided over 20 research sessions at the American Chemical Society National Meetings and over 2 dozen conferences at the State and International level, including 1 at the Nobel Prize celebration in Germany. He is a reviewer of 93, editorial board member of 28, editor-in-chief of 10, founder of 4, associate editor of 4 and guest editor of 3 international reputable journals.
