BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Italo Giuffre' is a Consultant at the Department of Ophthalmology (Head: Prof. A. Caporossi) - Catholic University of Rome (Italy) since 2009 and Lecturer at the Orthoptics School in Bozen, Italy. He graduated as Medical Doctor cum laude at Tor Vergata University in 1988. He completed a Vitreo-retinal Fellowship at Antwerpen Ophthalmology Department. He discussed a thesis about the genetics of Apert and Crouzon syndromes.
Dr. Italo Giuffre received the SOI best Paper award in 2013. He attended more than 400 American, European and national meetings. In more than 100 he has invited a speaker. He is a member of ARVO, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Italian Society of Ophthalmology (SOI), AIMO, AISG, SiGLA, SIOP, GIVRE. He has numerous publications and also he is serving as Editorial Board Member. He worked at the Ophthalmological Department (Head: Prof. E. Balestrazzi) at L’Aquila University since 1992 up to 2009. Since then he served as Consultant at the Glaucoma Service and Hereditary eye diseases Service (Head: Prof. B. Falsini) at the Catholic University of Rome (Italy). He completed a Vitreo-retinal Fellowship at Antwerpen Ophthalmology Department.
