BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Freida Fuller Payne is a Professor and Coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner program in the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University, Atlanta. She received her PhD from University of Alabama at Birmingham. She returned to the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1998 to obtain her Post-Master’s Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She has been an educator for the past 33 years and is currently teaching at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing and serves as the Nurse Practitioner Coordinator for the FNP and Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) tracks. She primarily teaches in the graduate program. She is nationally certified and is recognized by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She serves as a program evaluator for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Dr. Freida Fuller Payne is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Pi Gamma Chapter and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. During 2007 and 2008 she accompanied a group of students on mission trips to provide health care to under-served areas in Moldova. She was also a member of the summer 2010 Mercer on Mission (MOM) team, composed of four faculty members and fifteen students. This team traveled to Vietnam and provided medical care for people of all ages.
