Dr. Prokai-Tatrai is presently working as a Professor of Pharmacology & Neuroscience and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UNT System College of Pharmacy, University of North Texas Health Science Center, USA. She received her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, M.Sc. in Chemistry and B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from University of Pannonia, Hungary. She completed her NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in Medicinal Chemistry/Drug Delivery and Bioanalytical Chemistry, University of Florida, Florida. She is an award-winning researcher and pharmacy educator at UNTHSC. She has six issued US patents. She received many awards including “Hero of the Week” (2014) rewarded by the UNTHSC ​Cabinet and First Faculty Excellence Award (2017) for the UNT System College of Pharmacy. She has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has participated in various international and national conferences and gave presentations. She serves as a member of various national committees UNTHSC Faculty Bylaws and Policies Committee and Interviewer, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She serves as an editorial board member of numerous journals and an academic editor of a successful special issue on neuroprotection.

Dr. Prokai-Tatrai’s research Interest is in Medicinal chemistry-based drug design and delivery into the central nervous system using prodrug approaches, Neuroprotection based on estrogens, GC/LC-MS-based bioanalytical assay development, and Mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
