BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Acosta Arbelo Felix Graduated from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Veterinary Medicine in 1997, defending his Bachelor's thesis in 1999 and his Doctoral Thesis in 2002. Since his beginnings, he has been working in the line of ichthyopathology research with various national and international publications, the realization of the Doctoral Thesis has been focused on the field of immunology, mainly in the study of non-specific immune response, making periods of training in reference centers (FRS Marine Laboratory, Scotland), as well as publishing in the best journals located in the area.
Currently, Acosta Arbelo Felix is working as Full Professor in the Animal Health Area, with the profile of Infectious Diseases and Ichthyopathology at the Veterinary Faculty of the ULPGC, and develops his research activity at the EcoAqua Institute of the ULPGC, of which he is a member of the Group of Research in Aquaculture and head of the Animal Health Service in Aquaculture. He has participated in 18 projects financed with public or private funds and regional, national or European, of which he has been (or is) responsible researcher in 3 of them, and is co-author of 57 publications in international scientific journals.
